Welcome To The Employment Center!
Support is provided to people to identify each person's unique skills and interests in order to determine their job path. Our highly experienced Job Placement Coordinators will assist with career development, job coaching and maintaining employment. Job Placement Coordinators will work with each person, and the employer, to achieve successful employment within the Halton area. Employment supports may be provided through Ontario Disability Support Program Employment Supports (ODSP-ES) or Supported Employment.
Ontario Disability Support Program Employment Supports
Candidates are skilled, reliable, enthusiastic and ready for competitive employment. Application for this program can be provided through our Job Placement Coordinators. People who apply for the program must be seeking a job that pays minimum wage or more. Everyone's path to employment is different and it is our goal to help each person create a career path.
Supported Employment is an alternative to ODSP Employment Supports, for people seeking work experiences and meaningful community involvement. Job Placement Coordinators assist people to demonstrate their skills and talents in a wide variety of settings that nurture their interests and aspirations. This may take the form of unpaid work experiences and/or training opportunities.

Kevin Speers has been developing employment opportunities for the people that we support in Oakville for over thirty years. He is dedicated to finding the right job match, as this has been proven to be the key to success. Follow-up, troubleshooting and problem solving are relevant strengths. Personal job satisfaction comes when a person that we support has mastered their job and is able to tell him that they no longer need his help. Then it is time to give another person a chance at employment in our community.
Tracey Morrow has been working for Community Living Oakville for the past twenty three years. Tracey joined the Employment team in 2007. Over the years, many individuals we support have found competitive employment within the community. Job coaching and job retention are areas of strength within the department. The success of an individual is listening to their dreams and goals and working on a plan to get there.
Linda has been working in the field of social services for seventeen years. For eleven of these years, she has worked in employment supports, supporting people to obtain competitive employment and/or work experiences in the community. She has experience evaluating candidates’ job skills, facilitating career exploration, job developing, job coaching and partnering with employers to give job seekers their best opportunity to succeed. She is passionate about ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to pursue their dream of inclusion in the workplace.
