Community Living Oakville, powered by their very own media team ‘In The Loop Media’ challenged others to promote and expand people’s views in regards to accessibility.
Watch the Video
Over the past year, the In The Loop Media team; comprised of talented reporters who have a developmental disability, have been meeting with local businesses, community partners and public attractions. The team has been putting accessibility to the test as the province is working towards the goal of an accessible Ontario by 2025. Reviews and information is then shared by the team via social media to educate the public and encourage others to come on board.
On September 16th, 2019, Community Living Oakville’s Executive Director Janet Lorimer, along with members from the In the Loop Media Team succeeded in taking accessibility to new heights as they experienced the CN Tower Edgewalk; the world’s highest full-circle hands-free walk – 116 storeys above ground. The CN Tower Edgewalk also offers the Accessible Wheelchair EdgeWalk Experience, providing full accessibility to all of their customers.
The In The Loop Media Team, challenges all of you to become leaders and to ‘Take Accessibility To New Heights!’

Can’t Read, Can’t Write, Here’s My Book is told through the eyes of Michael Jacques, a compassionate and determined young adult with autism and an intellectual disability. His book—which is written by using speech to text—is a down-to-earth collection of compelling life stories and discoveries that teach us how to embrace and celebrate our differences. Michael, who never surrenders to the idea of “can’t” speaks about topics such as: learning, inclusion, advocating, independence and the power of perseverance.
