Dear Community Members and Partners,
We are writing to provide an update as we move into the fourth week of the labour disruption at Community Living Oakville.
At this time, the strike remains ongoing, and there are no new developments to report. We are grateful for the continued understanding and support shown by our community during this period.
Our focus remains on the well-being of the people we support. With the assistance of the interim staffing arrangements in place, people continue to receive care and support, including participating in daily activities and community engagement.
As in previous communications, Community Participation Support programs remain closed for the duration of the strike. This includes: The Hub, Community Connect and Xcel. We recognize the important role these programs play and the impact of their temporary closure.
Our leadership team remains actively engaged in monitoring operations and adjusting resources as needed to maintain safe, stable supports. While there are no new developments at this time, we will continue to communicate updates as they become available.
We also want to emphasize that we recognize the contributions of our staff to our organization and community. We remain committed to the collective bargaining process and to reaching a new collective agreement.
We appreciate the community’s continued patience and support.
Warm regards,
Alexandra Hoeck-Murray
Executive Director
